Astralis came from behind to beat Virtus.pro 2-1 and win the $250,000 ELEAGUE Clash for Cash.

The series began on Nuke, where Virtus.pro came out of the gate looking scary. Using a variety of fast-paced attacks, the Polish team got out to a 6-0 lead as Astralis struggled to keep up with the pace.

It was only then that Astralis finally put their foot down to hold Virtus.pro back. With Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander delivering big rounds, the Danish team brought the deficit to a minimum, but then they were caught off-guard by a force-buy round, which set Virtus.pro up for a 9-6 lead.

The second half began with Astralis finding three quick headshots en route to the upper bombsite. They were, however, unable to hold the site, allowing Virtus.pro to pull off a miracle 2v5 thanks to a quad kill from Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski.

Virtus.pro continued grinding out rounds and eventually brought the scoreline to a 14-6 advantage. Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth still tried to rescue Astralis with a 1v3 clutch, but Virtus.pro rallied back right after, resetting the Danes' economy before locking down the map.

Astralis fought back after losing the first map

Next up was Overpass, where pashaBiceps opened up the first half with three quick kills in the pistol round. After giving up both eco rounds, Astralis upped the pace and took nine straight rounds as Virtus.pro were constantly outplayed.

The Polish team then found a lifeline as they picked up a round on a shoddy buy thanks to two mag7 kills from pashaBiceps, but Astralis regained control of proceedings and closed out the half with a commanding 11-4 lead.

Now playing on the CT side, Astralis refused to slow down and continued the onslaught, winning five rounds in a row to take the map at 16-4.

Virtus.pro were off the pace on the last two maps

Astralis carried their momentum into the final map, Mirage, where they cruised to a 6-0 lead on the CT side. Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski then brought that streak to an end with an ace, but Astralis hit back right after and increased their lead to 10-1.

It was only then that Virtus.pro finally found some breathing room as they strung two rounds together, allowing them to build up their bank. Still, Astralis had plenty of money to work with, which allowed them to regain control of the game and close out the half with a 12-3 lead.

The Danish team piled more misery on Virtus.pro by taking the pistol round with an A push. Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas immediately called a timeout in a bid to discuss the strategy for the final rounds, but there was no stopping Astralis, who would go on to win the next three rounds without breaking a sweat.
